Country music star George Hamilton IV took time out from a global tour to play to 50 fans at a Manchester [ UK ] church. The 72-year-old American singer – in the country to appear at a major festival – agreed to play a low-key gig at the Church of the Nazarene, in Brooklands, Sale. He entertained the tiny audience for nearly two hours before enjoying tea and cakes with parishioners. Hamilton’s career stretches back over half a century and he has toured with artists including Buddy Holly, Gene Vincent and Patsy Cline.
